Rosario Maria Mendoza (Santillanes), born on January 5, 1941, in Bernalillo, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was 84 years old.
Rosario was the beloved daughter of Felipe Santillanes and Eufelia Baldonado Santillanes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Adolfo Felix Mendoza. Together, they built a life centered on love, family, and unwavering dedication to those around them.
Throughout her life, Rosario exemplified compassion and strength. She worked as a nursing caregiver, offering comfort and support to those in need with quiet dignity and care. Her professional work reflected the same nurturing spirit she brought into her home.
Rosario devoted herself wholeheartedly to raising and helping her family. She lovingly raised her children—Robert Vigil, Sharon Vigil, Rudy Mendoza Sr. (with his wife Rosalie Mendoza), and Randy Mendoza—and several of her grandchildren. Her home was a place of warmth and guidance for generations. Even in later years, she continued to help care for her great-grandchildren, embodying a legacy of selflessness and enduring love.
She leaves behind a large and loving family: four children; ten grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
May Rosario Maria Mendoza’s memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. A Memorial Service will be held on November 21, 2025, at 05:00 PM at Praise and Worship Center 3044 ISLETA Blvd. SW. Interment will take place on November 22, 2025, at Placitas Cemetery.
