Cynthia Jeane Wardlow-Sylvan, 78
 
Cynthia passed away on February 22, 2025 after a short illness in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her parents Claude and Lorene Wardlow and a son Eric Wayne Sylvan. 
 
Cynthia was the loving Mother of Christopher Eugene (Layla) Sylvan of Albuquerque, NM and Claude Alan (Angie) Sylvan of St. Louis, MO. She was also the grandmother of Jabu Wall-Sylvan of Albuquerque, NM and Alexis and Chase Sylvan of St. Louis, MO.
 
Cynthia was born April 17, 1946, in Kansas City, KS. She graduated from Central High School in Kansas City, MO in 1963. She received her bachelor’s degree from William Jewell College in Liberty, MO. She attended and received her master’s degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. 
 
Cynthia was a longtime member of Palestine Missionary Baptist Church of Kansas City, MO. Cynthia was a woman of strong faith, finding comfort and guidance in her Christian beliefs throughout her life. 
 
A Memorial service to celebrate Cynthia's life will be held on June 11th  at 1pm at Grant Chapel AME Church 7920 Claremont Ave NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110
