Ralph Ignacio Griego, age 80, passed away on July 9, 2026. He was born on December 9, 1945, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to Thomas Griego and Jessica Quintana.
Ralph will be remembered as a kind and loving man whose happiness and optimism touched everyone around him. He had a warm smile, a gentle heart, and a special ability to find hope and goodness even during life’s difficult moments. His cheerful personality made others feel welcome, and his kindness left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know him.
Above all, Ralph was a proud father, son, beloved brother and uncle. He was proud of his family and treasured the time he spent with those he loved. His positive outlook, caring nature, and joyful spirit will remain an important part of his family’s memories.
Ralph is survived by his only son Ralph “Ray” Griego and his grandchildren, Michael Griego, Johnathan Griego, Donna Griego, Felicia Griego, and Serenity Griego. He is also lovingly remembered by his great-grandchildren, Makayla, Michael, Mathias, Moses, Maverick, James, and Ali, his sister Martha Perez (Mike) as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Griego and Jessica Quintana, step father Cristobal F. Martinez his siblings Tillie, Eddie, Lute, Mary, Gloria and Isabel and other beloved family members who welcomed him into eternal rest.
A Rosary and Mass are tentatively planned for Tuesday, August 10, 2026. The Rosary will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by the Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Queen of Heaven. Catholic Church in Albuquerque, NM. Final service information will be announced by the family.
Ralph’s life will be remembered through the kindness he extended, the smiles he shared, and the optimism he carried wherever he went. Although he will be deeply missed, his joyful spirit and love for his family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
