When I met Gary he was cantankerous and ornery he drank too much and smoked too much weed! I was asked by a mutual friend to take him into town to go grocery shopping. He wasnt too happy to see me pull up he said I don't like many people and I don't know you and I thought to myself this is gonna be a long day. By the time we were headed home I had managed to break through that gruff facade and he had decided that I was alright since I wasn't a complete idiot. What sealed our friendship though was when I got ready to leave and told him I'd see him later he did that first part of the Woody Woodpecker laugh and with our missing a beat I answered back with the second half of that laugh. He lit up with that big ol smile of his and said I knew I liked you! I am truly grateful that our paths crossed that day and I got to be a part of his life and he a part of mine. I miss him . R.I.P Gary

I remember being a kid and Gary returning in his Army Uniform while kids were practicing little league. We were all amazed and told him we had heard he was Airborne. He told us that it didn't matter what you have been or what you have done, What mattered is who you are.

Gary was a happy guy (we were friends in grade-school). He smiled a lot and it was infectious. And, fast! My sympathy to all who loved him.

My deepest condolences. I remember working the fields of sellers farms with Willie Sanchez custom farming. I’m so so sorry to see my past going through my life. But that’s price of time someday soon I’ll be gone too. So enjoy life now

Gary was a Super Hero, one night @ Tabletop Bar in Stanfield after he got out of the service, he was winning the pool table on a Friday night in Deadville and four cowboys and gal from Red River feedlot told Gary they wanted to play without him. He said when you beat me the table is yours. HIS HAIR had already grown out and somebody pulled out a knife and said I'll cut your hair hippie! Gary says " YOU BEST LEAVE ME ALONE ". They didn't and Gary took all the guys down with his pool cue when they all came at him, then the chick ran up and slapped him, he punched the "I'm so bad" cowgirl too! HA! We never saw any of them again... My Hero!!!
