David Otero
David Otero, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2024, at the age of 44. Though David’s life consisted of many hardships and injustices, he held onto his spirit of resilience, love, kindness, generosity, and gratitude, which he expressed to everyone he knew and with those that briefly crossed his path. He truly found happiness in the simplest of things such as storytelling, eating good food, spending time with family, listening to music, cruising in the car, giving to others, singing, dancing, and cracking jokes to bring out smiles and laughter. His presence was a blessing that deeply touched those around him and inspired us to live authentically, appreciate life’s freedoms, and solve the world’s problems with more love and compassion. Though his time with us was way too short, the lessons and love he gave will live in our hearts and minds forever. May his precious soul rest in loving and eternal peace.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Lynn Otero and David Otero; grandparents, Martha and Richard Medina; and aunts, Eleanor Usman and Rosalinda Hernandez.
He is survived by his step-parent, Linda Manzanares; sisters, Sabrina Sierra and Martha Lopez; nieces and nephew, Destinie Otero, Corizma and Brina Sierra, and Monique and Henry Lopez, as well as many other relatives and friends who loved him.
