Chance Ann Hart, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully
surrounded by family.
Chance was born in Pecos, Texas December 16, 1938 to Blackie and Lottie Evans Woods.
Survived by her siblings Judy Roach, Tim Woods, and JP Woods, and was preceded in death by
her brother Beary Woods.
She married the love of her life, Robert Eugene "Bobby" Hart, and together they made their
home in El Paso, Texas. After Bobby's passing, Chance moved to Albuquerque to be near the
Maple family.
Never one to shy away from new challenges, Chance returned to school later in life, completing both her undergraduate and master's degrees at the age of 70. She went on to serve at the VA Hospital in Amarillo, Texas, where she worked in crisis intervention for veterans. Chance deeply loved and respected her veterans, and her dedication was recognized on many occasions.
She was the proud mother of two children: Kippy Read Hart and his wife Debbie, and Kimberly Grace Maple and her husband Gary Dean. She cherished her grandchildren Whitney, Madison, Pierce, and Evan Jacob, who brought her great joy. Chance also deeply loved and adored her nieces and nephews, with whom she shared a close and special bond.
Chance loved God with her whole heart. She devoted her life to reading and studying scripture, and her faith was the cornerstone of her journey. After retiring at age 81, she returned to Albuquerque, where she found peace once more in the presence of her family and the beauty of
the Sandia Mountains she so dearly loved.
Her life was marked by devotion- -to her family, her faith, and the countless veterans she served. She will be remembered for her wisdom, warmth, and unwavering love
